The Last Shall Be First

And then there was one.

Show of hands…Who looked out the window this morning? Yeah, who looked out this morning and realized that we were just about to the goal – the last mile of a long road race, the last stop on a train, the last step before the top of a steep hill.

Now I suppose that’s a bit much, melodramatic even, but isn’t life hard enough? And is it really so bad that we celebrate a fun achievement together? Why not, right? If you guys are for it, that’s really all I care about.

So, if you’re with me on this, it represents a lot of firsts, too. There’s that first day in, let’s say, late January when you can look out that same window and it’s a little brighter. Or maybe you look ahead a little more to that first day in mid-February, the day Major League Baseball pitchers and catchers report to camp. Or instead, it could be something simple, like thinking of that first day of spring or even having that first sit-down dinner in actual daylight!

Like I said, simple stuff, sure, but sometimes the little things count more than we may realize.

So, tomorrow morning when we get to 10:03 AM EST, please think of our adventure together. And please accept my gratitude for taking time out for me over the last 30 days.

It has truly been my honor.

Lastly, and if it’s not too much to ask, I hope you will stop by briefly tomorrow for our wrap up.

Make it a good night and an even better morning.
