Hi, gang,
Down to a dozen days, and we continue to get closer and closer to the goal. (-:
For today, let’s hit the road together. Yeah, let’s take a ride in honor of good ol’ 12.
U.S. Highway 12 is a major east-west span, stretching from Aberdeen, Washington to Detroit, Michigan. Along the way we’ll cross wide open landscapes and visit historic sites, everything from portions of the Lewis & Clark Trail to the mountains of Montana’s Big Sky.
Yep, we’ll see parts of the Rockies, featuring lesser-known, yet magnificent ranges, including the Bitterroots and Beartooths plus the Crazy Mountains, aptly named for its unpredictable weather patterns and a lore that suggests it’s the ideal spot for vision quests.
We won’t quite intersect with Route 66, of course, but there’s plenty of scenic beauty out there, and while we’re at it, we’ll get some insights on early American roads.
And when we continue eastward to The Motor City, we can look forward to all the attractions at The Henry Ford and Motown Museum(s).
Happy trails, all.
See you tomorrow.
